East Hennepin Avenue, originally known as Bay Street, has
always been a ferociously interesting dividing line between
northeast and southeast Minneapolis. Join us for 45 minutes to
learn a very brief history of St. Anthony Falls, glimpse the
interior of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, and hear
gripping tales of the neighborhood’s first families. Along the
way you will view diverse architecture, assorted building
rehabilitations, and hidden neighborhood art.
Note: The tour will end at Nicollet Island at approximately 5:50 pm, just in time for
everyone to enjoy the Third Ward Neighborhood Fest.

Ira was a NEBA Member and an important part of the community here.  As a major partner and owner of St. Anthony Main, Vics, Tuggs, and Pracna (among many other things) his involvement with the resurgence of the Riverfront District was huge and this loss will be felt greatly.

On behalf of our membership, we extend out deepest sympathies to Ira’s wonderful family, friends, employees, and partners in business.
Farewell, Ira.  You will be missed.

Hmong Boy Scout Troop 100 will present a U.S. flag demonstration which will include how to properly fold the flag as well as what each fold signifies. Presentations will be held at 1:15 PM, 2:15 PM, and 3:15 PM.

Johnny Her, a ninth grader at Henry High school and Troop 100 member, is leading the public service project which also includes four other troop members. This particular Hmong Troop was organized by Dave Moore, a former teacher at Edison High School, and has led the group since 1981.
